Service: There wasn't really any service. We were told at the reception area where to sit and that was it. There were two buffets, we weren't informed which one we could eat from. Bizarre.
Food:
Buffett - $30
A bit oily, not much variety. Some of the cooked food was cold. More salads would be good. Deserts limited to cheesecake and pavlova. For an Italian focused place, it would've been good to have some Italian desserts. Can't complain too much though considering it only cost $30. Had to go line up at the bar to get drinks, including water.
Atmosphere:
Dull, dated and slightly dirty decor. Cloudy day, so I'm sure if you could see the views it would be nicer. The website is misleading, looks much more classy than it is! There was a wedding going on and we were seated within the guest area. So our nice lunch was interrupted by their wedding, not sure how they would've felt having strangers there either!
Final Thoughts:
Might go back if they renovated and it was a nice clear night. Wouldn't get the buffet, would try something from a set menu.
Service: Horrendous! We had a booking and had to wait for an hour to be seated. To add insult to injury, we were offered some breads and dips whilst we waited only to have it tacked onto the end of our bill at the end of the night. The manager was rude and unapologetic!
Food:
Entree: Haloumi
Over cooked and more salty than usual
Main: Misc.dishes
Mains were generally nice food. Salmon and chicken dishes were nice, however nothing you wouldn't expect from any restaurant. This restaurant claims to be of a high standard, definitely not on this night!
Dessert: Chocolate Fondants with Vanilla Ice-cream
Seemed to be Sara Lee frozen chocolate cake. When we asked the manager where the ice-cream was, he brought eveyones scoop out in the one bowl so we had to serve ourselves. There was no fondant about it!
Atmosphere:
Decor and views nice. However, due to the incredibly poor service, the whole atmosphere was tainted.
Final Thoughts:
The food was nice enough if it was an 'Sizzlers' type of place, however not worth the price. The service and manner of the management ultimately made the decision for us - NEVER to go here again and NEVER to recommend this place to anyone!!!
Service: Very friendly waitress, gave excellent recommendations
Food:
Entree: Garlic pizza with cheese - $13
Really nice, had to ask for the pizza to have cheese as they didn't do one. They made it for us. Was simple and tasty.
Main: Rucolo pizza and Cappriosca Pizza - $19.95/pizza
Pizzas were large and filling. Fresh and not greasy. Delicious!
Dessert: Tiramisu - $8 per serve (2 slices with cream)
Real Tiramisu! Best Tiramisu I've had in Wollongong! One of us even bought some to take home!
Atmosphere:
Simple Italian restaurant. There was an engagement party on which was fine. However the kids at that party were squealing/screaming a bit and the restaurant is very echoey. So it was a bit ear piercing and annoying. Overall, its a good place to go with a group of friends for dinner!
Final Thoughts:
It's a great place to go for dinner with a group of friends. It's a bit out of the way if you wanted to continue the night out at clubs or bars as its about a 10min cab ride back into Wollongong. BYO is great, pizzas were nice. Wouldn't go there for a quiet romantic night if it was a Friday night. Service was fabulous!
